Don’t Lose Your Pet To Foreclosure: Give it a Shelter
July 7th, 2008
The high scale foreclosures have been a big blow to the real estate industry. The pets are also facing a serious problem due to foreclosures as they are being abandoned by their owners who are confronting this problem. There are services provided by some of the pet shelters where people can always give their loved ones a sweet home. It has been observed that the homeowners, who face the problem of house foreclosures, often leave behind their pet without knowing of what to do. This is a matter of great concern. In order to provide a solution in this particular situation, a number of pet shelters have come up to help these people out.
‘No Paws Left Behind’ is a company based in Houston that provides information on various pet shelters. The role played by the Humane Society of the United States is mention worthy in this context. They provide funds to the various shelters so that they can help the pets that are undergoing the problem of foreclosures along with their master. Large number of financially hard-pressed homeowners puts a call to these pet shelters to give their pet a security.
Peggy Brown Aguilar, the Manager of the Humane Society shelter of East Lancaster Boulevard, Fort Worth said: “They have been kicked out, and they leave the animals.” She has also said that about an approximate of 150 to 200 animals per day are received by their shelter.
The pet shelters come to a great help in case of people loosing their home due to house foreclosure. The pet owner needs to get signed an agreement from their future landlord on the issue that they own a pet and the landlord will allow it once they settle there.
The President of Integrated Mortgage Solutions, Cheryl Lang, was greatly moved when he came across the photographs of dogs in Arkansas that were left in the kennel in the backyard of the house. The Washington-based national Humane Society organization have been providing about $2,000 per shelter in order to tackle the pet problems related to house foreclosures. This is indeed an excellent step undertaken by them which is surely going to reduce the numbers of abandoned pets in the near future. It can be expected that there is a ray of hope for these pets, and their master can now have somewhat sleepless nights. We have to just wait and watch for sometime.
